Can you lose weight doing c25k

Yes, and I'm still running ever since doing it. The Couch to 5K is designed to introduce your body slowly to the stresses of running -it is not intended as a weight loss tool nor is it going to much for your fitness as the work outs are a bit on the short side. Thanks for the advice! New clothes at the half way mark would be a great reward so I think I will change that!

I didn't really think of that. Congrats on your weight loss! That is so awesome! I hope I can get to my goal! I did it for a while last fall and it seemed like the pounds just easily came off every week. It makes me wonder why the hell I stopped doing it. I would definitely stick to the 3 days a week schedule because your body needs the rest from the impact. I usually did the elliptical on my days off. That's great!

I am doing the 30 Day Shred as well as Cto5K. I did the 30 Day Shred alone in Jan and lost 16 lbs Right now I walk 5 minutes at 3. I try and stay on the treadmill for another half an hour and run when I get a burst of energy.

Basically by week 4 or 5 you should be running at least a mile even if it's broken up. By doing this I've managed to lose 15 pounds in 2 months. Add me if you want! March 22, AM 0. I m on week 1 But im repeating week 1 again. Just to make sure I can run the whole time. I really want to be able to run without stopping. Also lose some weight and inches.

I went through week 7 of the program and dropped 18lbs 3lb not recorded on MFP :P. For me, it was the easy fat as its been years since I worked out and the first i've ever really ran. Started to watch what I was eating and ran every other day. I never thought I would be able to run more than 3 minutes straight and at the end I was running 28 minutes straight! The program works for sure! I started with C25K last January and haven't stopped running since, you can see some before and after pics on my profile page.

I'm astounded at how much I love to run and C25K was the best thing ever for me, to get me started. Losing weight has not just been about runnning though - I'm eating much more reasonable sized portions and mostly eating less junky snacks.

I think they are the things that have really made the difference but the running has definitely been a contributing factor. However my shape has really changed. Try taking measurements, around your arms, waist, chest, thighs etc.

I noticed the measurements decreased even if my weight didnt. Made me feel a little better anyways. Yes, I started C25K at , graduated 9 weeks later at about , reached 'target weight' at just under had to get to 9 stone something, rather than 10 stone about 2 months later, that's last November. I started the program at kg I'm now 18 months later 76kg that's about 5.

The only exercise I do is 2 x 35 mins and 1 times 55 mins running a week. I do swear by MyFitnessPal, I started that and the c25k at the same time and give them equal credit for my weight loss. But, I think the weight only truly starts to come off at the end of the program, when you start to realise that you can run and start extending past the 30 minute barrier. I think it is worth calculating what a run burns up in calories - sadly it is surprisingly few. My fitness pal will calculate this.

It is as others say - only when you get up to 30 mins plus - that calories get burnt. I know it is frustrating- But this is also about healthier you. I am playing the long game on weight loss. What I have found is exercise definitely helps with maintaining weight, once you have lost some.

Good luck with the rest of the programme. I am not thrilled with my weight at the mo and although that isn't my main motivation for doing this programme, it would be a nice side effect! I am in week seven and I really don't think i have lost anything but I know i'm fitter and healthier. I am doing this to lose weight and beginner training for this I just want to hear some positive weight loss stories from doing the C25K Content on HealthUnlocked does not replace the relationship between you and doctors or other healthcare professionals nor the advice you receive from them.
